Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”
