The incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a suspected irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, police said.

A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
