Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.

Aryna Sabalenka celebrating a point
The Belarusian player concluded the season with an outstanding twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight year.

The twenty-seven-year-old won four tournament victories – the most on tour – which included retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.

A Year of Consistency

Across the season, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.

This past summer, she became the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Numbers

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a 63-12 win-loss record, and earned a record £11m in prize money.

She received almost eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a new level".
